Valpadana have
been manufacturing tractors in Italy since 1960. They are the dominant
force in their home market.
Valpadana is
part of Argo Holding, a leading industrial group in the agricultural
mechanisation market. Argo dates back more than 100 years when the
Morra family was making tools and simple machinery for local farmers.
The company is still owned by the Morra family and its brands include
the Valpadana, McCormick and Landini tractor ranges, Laverda harvesting
machinery and the Pegararo range of tillage equipment. Argo also
owns a former CNH factory in France building transmssions for McCormick
tractors. Argo group turnover in 2001 totalled £536m.
